The Google Admin Console is a management tool provided by Google for G Suite administrators. It allows administrators to sustain all their G Suite services from one dashboard. With the Google Admin Console, administrators can configure settings for
G Suite, monitor the usage of their domains, and create user accounts.

After you log in to admin.google.com, you can access the Google Admin Console dashboard. The dashboard will provide you with controls for performing the administrative tasks that you need. Some of these controls may be hidden at first, but can easily be accessed from the More Controls option that is located at the bottom of the dashboard page. You can easily add these extra controls to the main area of your dashboard and arrange them if you want.

Overview of the Google Admin Console Features:

There are many, many tools within the Google Admin console; some of the most common controls you will probably use are Users, Groups, Admin Roles, Apps, and Reports. Other controls that are also included are Company Profile, Domains, Billing, Security, Migration, Support, App Engine Apps, and Device Management. But here is an overview of the basics.

 Billing:

This is the place to go if you want a flexible plan or annual plan, buying more users, and renew annual plans. You can also select your billing country’s currency and your payment method.

Admin Roles:

Allows you to assign administrative roles to other users. You can promote a user to the level of a Super Administrator, which will allow them to perform all tasks on the Google Admin Console, or you can assign a custom role that lets you pick which tasks they will be performed. Admin Roles also allow you to select pre-built roles provided by Google such as Groups Admin or User Management Admin.

google admin app:

The Admin console lets you manage settings on your apps and turn Google services on or off. You can also have service-specific settings. The types of apps and services in the Google Admin Console include G Suite core tools like Gmail, Drive, Calendars, etc., Google Marketplace Apps, and other Google services such as YouTube, Google+, etc.

Company Profile:

Customize your employee G Suite experience in your company’s profile. You can automatically set a language and time zone for new users and you can upload your company logo. You can also select if you want users to get G Suite updates as soon as Google pushes them on weekly, scheduled release. Finally, this is the place to designate your Data Protection Officer (DPO) for GDPR compliance.

Security:

We know that security is a huge concern for our customers, and the Admin console can help to protect your business. You can require 2-step verification and minimum password lengths, monitor passwords, and require screen locks on managed devices. You can also allow some, but not all, employees to use less-secure apps. These things will keep your breach risks as low as possible.

Report:

Allow you to observe potential security risks and track specific user activities. The Reports section of the Google Admin Console is organized by Highlights, Security, Audits Account Activity and Apps Usage Activity.

Data Migration:

What happens to all your old emails when you switch from a legacy system to G Suite? You can easily bring them over with data migration! This feature lets you import emails, and calendars contacts so you won’t lose anything important.

Group:

This section of the Google Admin Console allows you to add and remove groups, edit group membership roles, access settings (permissions), name, email address and description.

Device Management:

Device management allows you to add and manage Chrome devices for your organization’s G Suite accounts. This works on both personal devices if you’re in a BYOD environment and on company-owned devices, including tablets, Chrome books, smartwatches, and smartphones. This helps keep your company’s data private. You can wipe corporate data off of devices, require passcodes, and restrict hardware usage, like turning off webcams or USB transfers. Basic device management is automatically applied when a user signs into their company email address on a device, but it can be manually turned off.

User:

It allows you to add and remove users and also, manage the hierarchy of organizational units to which users belong. The User section of the Google Admin Console also permits you to manage which Google apps and services individual users and organizational units have access to.

Domains:

You can use the Admin console to easily add additional domains or alliances to a primary one and whitelist external domains so that your organizations can collaborate through certain Google products.

Navigating the Admin Console:

1.     This side navigation menu lists common actions done by admins and can bring you back to the Admin console homepage. You can hover and click through the menu to drill down directly to the pages you want to see. You’ll spend less time browsing and more time doing.

2.     This is the universal search bar. You can Search for things such as users, groups, and settings.

3.     The hourglass icon displays your tasks and their progress. The query mark icon is a help button that lets you search for support articles.

4.     The bell displays notifications, alerts, and announcements.

5.     Tab < will show usage and activity, tools, common tasks, and suggested apps.

6.     These three vertical dots from the settings option. Use it to navigate to the G Suite setup wizard to help you set up G Suite within your organization, or take a tour of the Admin console with on-screen prompts.
